BARGE MONITORING

BARGE MONITORING

Our BM-10 Barge Monitor is a small, highly portable dredge monitoring system that can be installed on a variety of dredge equipment including scows, hopper dredges, Cutterhead dredges, mechanical dredges and tugboats. The system currently meets and exceeds the 95% data return requirement set forth by the USACE regulations.

SOFTWARE PARTNER

We partner our hardware solution with ADISS Inc.'s Automated Disposal Surveillance System (ADISS) software to provide you the data you need for safe, compliant operations.

CLIENTS

Our clients include government agencies to include the Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency, and commercial companies to include Callaway Marine technologies, CT Dredging Corp, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co, Malcolm Marine, Roen Salvage, Weeks Marine and many more!

ABOUT OUR MONITORS

For the past 10 years, we've made continual improvements on our BM-10 Barge Monitoring system that collects and stores data from the following sensors:

  • GPS sensor - time, date, position, and course

  • 2 pressure sensors for barge draft fore & aft

  • Proximity sensors to verify open or closed barge hull

  • Pitch and roll sensor

Data is saved in an 8 megabyte memory. The memory holds 65,000 complete data scans. A 5 minute sample rate will fill the memory in 225 days. Sample rates can be set from 2 seconds to 4 hours.

Power required is 11 to 16 volts DC at 8 ma. for standby, 80 ma. for sampling and up to 400 ma. peak for data telemetry.

Data can be telemetered in real time using a data cell phone connected to the serial port. It can also be telemetered simultaneously over a 900 MHz radio.

Sample rates, sensor enable/disable functions, and up to 6 geo-fence areas can be entered locally or via either telemetry link.
